1. Overview
You can request deletion of your CloseDaily and SocialAgnt data at any time. This page explains the three ways to do that and what gets deleted in each case. The deletion timelines and retention rules described below supplement our Privacy Policy.
2. Three ways to request deletion
A. Delete a specific connected social platform (SocialAgnt users). Sign in to CloseDaily, go to Settings → Connections, and click Disconnect next to the platform you want to remove (Instagram, Facebook, Threads, LinkedIn, YouTube, Google Business Profile, or TikTok). Disconnecting:
- Immediately revokes our access token for that platform
- Cancels any scheduled posts queued for that platform
- Begins deletion of the OAuth token, account identifiers, and post drafts tied to that connection — completed within 30 days
- Retains a 150×150 thumbnail of previously published posts so your analytics history remains coherent (the full-size media was already auto-deleted after 90 days)
B. Cancel your entire CloseDaily account. Sign in to CloseDaily, go to Settings → Billing → Cancel Account. This:
- Cancels your subscription (and any SocialAgnt add-on)
- Initiates full deletion of your CloseDaily and SocialAgnt data within 30 days
- Retains backup snapshots for up to 90 days as part of standard disaster-recovery — these are not accessible to anyone and are then permanently destroyed
- Retains billing records as required by tax and accounting law (typically 7 years), but no operational data
C. Email us. If you cannot sign in or you want a written confirmation, email privacy@closedaily.com from the address on file with your CloseDaily account. Include:
- Your CloseDaily account email
- What you want deleted: a specific connected platform, your entire account, or specific records (e.g., a CRM contact)
- Whether you also want a data export (ZIP of your posts, captions, analytics, and CRM data) before deletion
We respond to all deletion requests within 30 days. For most cases we complete the deletion within 7 business days.
3. Meta-initiated deletion (Facebook, Instagram, Threads)
When you remove the SocialAgnt app from your Facebook, Instagram, or Threads account — via that platform's Settings → Apps and Websites menu — Meta automatically notifies us using their signed-request protocol. We honor every such request:
- We log the request with a confirmation code you (or Meta's reviewer) can look up at any time
- We immediately disable any further publish attempts for the affected account
- We delete the OAuth token, account identifiers, queued posts, and analytics rows tied to the connection within 30 days
You do not need to take any additional action with us if you've already removed the app from your Meta account — the deletion is automatic.
4. What gets deleted
Depending on the request type, the following data is removed:
- OAuth tokens for connected platforms (revoked immediately on disconnect)
- Account identifiers we cached from connected platforms (user ID, page/channel/profile ID, account name, profile picture URL)
- Post captions, hashtags, and scheduling data you composed in SocialAgnt
- Media you uploaded (images and video) — full-size media is already auto-deleted after 90 days; remaining thumbnails are removed on full account deletion
- Analytics time-series we pulled from each platform on your behalf
- DM and comment content (unified inbox, if you opted in)
- CRM contacts, notes, deals, transactions, and documents you entered into CloseDaily
5. What we retain after deletion
Some data is retained for legal, security, or operational reasons:
- Billing records — retained as required by tax and accounting law (typically 7 years), but no operational or content data
- Backup snapshots — disaster-recovery backups age out within 90 days of deletion; they are not accessible to staff and not used to restore deleted data
- Audit logs — a minimal record of the deletion event (timestamp, confirmation code, what was deleted) is retained for 24 months for security and compliance
- Anonymized aggregate metrics — usage statistics that no longer reference any individual user (e.g., "X posts published this month") may be retained indefinitely
6. Timelines
- Immediate: OAuth tokens revoked, scheduled publishes canceled, account access disabled
- Within 7 business days: most deletion requests complete
- Within 30 days: all standard deletion requests complete
- Within 90 days: backup snapshots containing your data age out
7. Questions
If you have questions about a deletion request, or need confirmation that a deletion is complete, email privacy@closedaily.com with your CloseDaily account email and (for Meta-initiated requests) the confirmation code shown when you removed the app from your Meta account.
